2010 Mission Trip

Epiphany’s Youth, in partnership with several Presbyterian churches
from Southwest Virginia, journeyed to New York City to serve
others in soup kitchens, homeless shelters, centers for the aging,
and elsewhere. Seven of our teens (some of whom are pictured at
left at the Four Star Soup Kitchen) and several parents, including
the fearless Diana Stone seen at left, headed to the Big Apple on
Sunday, July 25th, returning home on Saturday night, August 1st.
They not only survived the challenges of the subway system and
New Yorkers’ legendary “attitude,” they thrived and offered the
love of God to those they met. Countercultural, yes, but wasn’t
Jesus the most countercultural of all? Can I get an “Amen?”
Stay tuned for an adult forum in September featuring these great
Epiphany missionaries!
