The Very  Reverend Mary Brennan Thorpe serves as Rector of the Church of the Epiphany.

She comes to ordained ministry after a varied professional life in executive positions in the Legislative and Executive branch of the government, in government relations for a major financial institution, and in technology-based entrepreneurial ventures. Her formal training, and her first love, is music; she holds a graduate degree in orchestral conducting and has sung with major choruses and as a soloist in venues up and down the East Coast.

She holds an M. Div. with honors from Virginia Theological Seminary, a diploma in the Management of High-Technology Companies from Stanford University, a M.M.Ed. from the University of Hartford, and a B.A. in music from New Jersey State University. She is also certified in Interim Ministry, has taken extensive training in di

versity and conflict in organizations, and is trained as an EFM mentor.  She is pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia.

She also serves as Dean of the Diocese of Virginia's Region XI, an area that extends from north Richmond to Montpelier and Hanover Court House, as Chair of the Committee on the Diaconate for the Diocese, and as a member of the Commission on Ministry.

Our Deacon is Rev. Deacon Harrison Higgins, who came to Epiphany two years ago. A professional fine furniture maker (see his work at  http://www.harrisonhigginsinc.com), he serves with us in the Chapter 11 Men's Ministry, the Episcopal Yoga program, in liturgy and in outreach, particularly to the homeless. Contact Harrison at wahiggins@gmail.com.

Our Priest in Residence is The Rev. Canon Charles Poindexter, who continues his pastoral ministry with us even in retirement. He was born in Richmond, VA but spent most of his ministry in Philadelphia, PA at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Germantown.  During his 33 years at St. Luke’s he was active in the Wissahickon Deanery, represented his diocese at General Convention and served on various boards throughout the Philadelphia area. In retirement, Fr. Poindexter has been priest in charge of a number of parishes in Richmond and, to our great joy, has returnd to Epiphany, where he was interim prior to Mary's call. Contact Charles through the church office.

Our Youth Pastor is Rev. Greg Wood, a Presbyterian pastor with a long and happy relationship with Epiphany's young people. We partnered with Greg in several of our mission trips, and when he left active parish ministry to start his own business, we were delighted when he accepted our invitation to be our Youth Pastor. Contact Greg through the church office.

Here's Greg directing  one of the exciting rebuilding projects last summer.
